$4.99 average price across the whole menu Why Two Wendy's Charge Different Prices
Around 95 percent of Wendy's restaurants in the United States are franchise owned, and each operator prices their own market. That is why the same Dave's Single can differ by more than a dollar between two cities, and why no single national price list exists.
- 1 We compile, then cross check
Prices come from several public references and any figure only one source supports gets dropped.
- 2 Every number is generated, not typed
Each price in the writing is pulled from the database at build time, so the prose and the tables never disagree.
- 3 Delivery apps price higher
Menus on delivery platforms typically run 20 to 30 percent above the in restaurant board before fees.
Six Items Under $1.79
The bottom of the Wendy's menu is unusually deep. The Jr. Hamburger at $1.59 is a full beef sandwich rather than a snack, and Regular Hot Coffee at $1.82 makes the cheapest possible pairing at under four dollars for both.
For volume rather than price alone, Dave's Triple carries 72 grams of protein for $7.99, the best protein per dollar on the board.

About Wendy's
Wendy's opened in Columbus, Ohio in 1969 and built its identity on one decision that still shows on the menu today: square beef patties made from fresh, never frozen beef, cooked when the order is placed rather than held under a lamp. The square shape was a deliberate signal that the patty had not been pressed from a frozen puck, and the corners hanging over the bun became the brand's visual signature.
The menu has grown to 150 items across 13 categories, and it covers more ground than most burger chains. Chili has been on the board since the early years, baked potatoes arrived in 1983, and the Frosty has never left. Breakfast launched nationally in March 2020 and now runs to 28 items served until 10:30 AM.
How to Use the Prices on This Page
Treat every figure here as a planning number rather than a quote. It tells you what an item costs relative to the ones next to it, which is what you actually need when you are deciding between a $5.49 Dave's Single and a $7.69 Baconator. What it cannot tell you is the exact number your local register will show, because that number belongs to whoever owns that restaurant.
Two adjustments are worth making in your head. If you are ordering through a delivery app, add roughly a quarter on top before fees, because platform menus are priced separately from the in restaurant board. And if you are somewhere expensive, a downtown site or an airport, assume the higher end of the spread rather than the figure printed here.
The one place these numbers are exact is in the comparisons. When we say a Biggie Bag at $7.32 beats the same four items bought separately, that gap holds in a cheap market and an expensive one alike, because both sides of the comparison move together. The same is true of protein per dollar and calories per dollar. Ratios survive local pricing; absolute figures do not.
Reading the Calorie Numbers
Wendy's publishes nutrition data for every standard item, and 116 of the 150 items on this site carry a calorie figure. The ones that do not are combos and bundles, where the total depends on which side and drink you pick. A combo has no fixed calorie count for that reason.
Three numbers do most of the work when comparing items. Calories tell you the size of the order, protein tells you how filling it will be, and price tells you what it costs. The Big Bacon Classic Triple leads the menu at 77 grams of protein, and chili at $4.26 delivers 25 grams for only 370 calories, the best ratio on the board.
How to Order at Wendy's for Less
Start with the value menu
Eight sandwiches sell between $1.59 and $3.49. Two of them cost less than one Baconator and give you more food.
Check the Biggie Bag first
A Biggie Bag at $7.32 holds four items. The cheapest priced combo on the menu costs $10.48 for three.
Skip the drink you will not finish
A medium fountain drink costs $2.79 and adds 320 calories. Ordering the sandwich and a side alone usually beats the combo price.
Use chili as the protein side
Chili at $4.26 carries 25 grams of protein for 370 calories, better than any fries option on the menu.
Order breakfast before 10:30 AM
The morning menu has its own value bundle, and it disappears the moment lunch service starts. Timing is on the breakfast hours page.
Confirm the price at your location
Franchise pricing swings by more than a dollar between markets. The app shows live prices once you pick a restaurant.
